Game Technology

A classic adventure, finally at home on today's hardware

These were games that before were challenging to play on modern systems, with TRX, they can be experienced with ease and without the compatibility issues of the past, also on other platforms.

What is TRX?

TRX (aka Tomb Raider X) is a fan-made open-source reimplementation of the engine behind Tomb Raider I, II, and III. It has an unified engine, this means that all 3 games have the same base and you can use their other features across all.

TRX isn't a new engine with a completely different system as Tomb Raider Remastered or a compatibility layer as TR2Main; but rather a faithful recreation that maintains the essence of the original games.

Built for today

Modern displays and contemporary hardware become part of the experience instead of another compatibility puzzle.

The original feel

The goal is keeping the essence of the original games: the atmosphere and deliberate rhythm of the classics remain central.

Open by design

Because the project is open source, its progress can be followed, discussed, and improved by its community.
